Tomatoworld welcomes new Asian partner Cau Futong
A partnership agreement was signed on 24 October by education and information centre for greenhouse farming, Tomatoworld and Beijing-based Cau Futong.
In addition to three European companies (Novarbo Oy, Huhtamaki and Surplus Systems GmbH), Tomatoworld is now teaming up with an Asian partner. From January 2020, the Dutch branch of Cau Futong will become a gold member of Tomatoworld.
The demand for safely produced vegetables for global greenhouse vegetable production and knowledge about sustainable production is increasing. In one of the largest countries in the world, China, ensuring food safety is an even greater challenge. CAU Futong's mission is to make a tangible contribution to this growing demand for safely produced vegetables in northern China.
As the climate in northern China is mostly dry, the smart use and reuse of water, as well as fertilisers, is vital. Futong, part of China Agricultural University (CAU), as a high-tech company, has been working successfully for years with Dutch climate automation company Hoogendoorn Growth Management and logistics innovator Codema Systems Group to realise projects in China.
The agreement for future close cooperation was signed at a ceremony on Thursday 24 October by Miranda van den Ende (Managing Director of Tomatoworld), board member Jos van Mil (Greenco) and Zhang Tianzhu (Chairman of Cau Futong).
